October 22nd

Championship Game

 

World Wide Creations 12, Buccaneers 11

WWC scored 4 runs including Bill Kale's walk off 3 RBI triple in the bottom of 7th after Pat O'Mara had hit a tie breaking 3 RBI HR for the Bucs in the top of 7th inning. Manager Bob Gotwald had 4 hits; Al Lombardo and Ron Chiorello each had 3 hits; Bill Kale, Sonny Companick and Tony Benevento each had 2 hits and Frank Zielinski a double in support of WP Hoyt Ellis.  John Salmon  (triple), Arvie Powell (double), Pat O'Mara ( HR), Tony Mamie and Bob Moore each had 2 hits and Carl Fario a double for the Bucs.

 

Congratulations to the World Wide Creations team for winning the Championship Game!

 1st Round Playoffs

 

Buccaneers 11, Renegades 3

The Buccaneers upset 1st seeded Renegades.  John Salmon (2 doubles) and Fran Schweiss (double) each had 3 hits; Bob Moore, John Curran and Tony Mamie each had 2 hits and Pat O'Mara double in support of WP Steve Torok.

 

World Wide Creations 6, Puss N’ Boots 4

WWC upset 2nd seeded Puss N' Boots.  Bob Haugstatter (double), Ron Chiorello, Tong Benevento and Sonny Companick each had 2 hits in support of WP Hoyt Ellis.  Jim Meddick, Ray Luer and John Suntato each had 2 hits and Bob Johnson double for Puss N' Boots.

 

October 15th:

1st Round Playoff games postponed

 

World Wide Creations and Puss N' Boots

Played 3 innings with score 1-1.  During the bottom of 3rd inning WWC left fielder slipped and fell down on his back trying to field a fly ball in the wet grass.  The managers decided to postpone the game after the 3rd inning to avoid any serious injuries.  Game will start over on October 20th.

 

October 13th:

Puss N' Boots 11, Renegades 4

Jim Mendick (grand slam HR & double), Allen Rothenburg (triple, double), Herman Mitchell (double), Ray Giberson, Dick Schuessler, Bob Johnson and John Suntato each had 2 hits in support of WP Bill Kauffman.  Jack Murphy (triple) and Carl Marshall each had 2 hits for the Bucs.

 

Buccaneers 10, World Wide Creations 7

Bill Fuller (HR) and John Salmon each had 3 hits; Arvie Powell, Norm Fenimore, Fran Schweiss and Carl Fario each had 2 hits in support of WP Steve Torok. Sonny Companick had 2 hits and Tony Benevento had a double for WWC.

Bill Howland and WP Ron Elliott each had 3 hits; Jack Murphyand Bob Cardie each had 2 hits for the Renegades.  World Wide Creations team made the 1st triple play in league history.  Frank Zielinski (triple), Ron Chiorello (double), Cliff Ellis (double), Tony Benevento (double), Jack Dolan, Hoyt Ellis each had 2 hits for WWC.

Ray Giberson and Jim Mendick each had 3 hits; Paul Oleyar, Herman Mitchell, Bob Johnson each had 2 hits for Puss N' Boots.  Bill Fuller, Bob Moore and Arvie Powell each had 2 hits for the Bucs.

Bill Howland 3 hits; Charley Lauble, Fred Raccosta and WP Ron Elliott each had 2 hits for the1st place Renegades.  Arvie Powell, John Salmon and Lou Angelucci each had 2 hits and LP Steve Torok a double for the Bucs.

Fred Raccosta and WP Ron Elliott each had 4 hits; Carl Marshall, Charley Lauble and Bill Haile each had 3 hits for the Renegades.  Bob Johnson & Buck Schmitzer each had 3 hits for Puss N' Boots.

Puss N' Boots scored 3 runs in bottom of 7th to tie the game.  Renegades scored 4 runs in the 9th inning to win.  Charley Lauble, Jack Murphy and WP Ron Elliott each had 4 hits; Carl Marshall and Bob Rodgers each had 3 hits for the Renegades.  Herman Mitchell (triple and HR), Jim Mendick and Bob Johnson each had 3 hits and John Sergas HR for Puss N' Boots.

Ron Chiorello (2 doubles), Bob Gotwald (triple) and Tony Benevento (double) each had 3 hits in support of WP Hoyt Ellis.  Charley Lauble (double) had 4 hits and Jack Murphy (2 doubles) and Ron Elliott each had 3 hits for the Renegades.

Bucs came from behind in the bottom of 7th with 5 runs to upset Puss N' Boots.  Fran Schweiss had 4 hits; Arvie Powell (double), Carl Fario & Richard Lawrence each had 3 hits for the Bucs.  John Sergas and Paul Oleyar each had 3 hits for Puss N' Boots.

Al Lombardo and Bill Kale each had 3 hits and Bob Gotwald (double) had 2 hits in support of WP Hoyt Ellis.  John Sergas (double) had 3 hits and Ray Luer and Ray Giberson each had 2 hits for Puss N' Boots.

Jeep Davis 3 hits; WP Ron Elliott and 6 other players each had 2 hits for the Renegades.  Ray Giberson 4 hits and Allen Rothenburg had 3 hits for Puss N' Boots.  Note: Puss N' Boots played the game under protest!

Jeep Davis 4 hits; Lou Hartman, Jack Murphy, Bob Turner and Carl Marshall each had 3 hits in support of WP Ron Elliott.  Carl Fario, Fran Schweiss and Bill Fuller each had 3 hits for the Bucs.

Puss N' Boots scored 2 runs in top of 7th inning to defeat WWC.  Paul Oleyar had 2 triples and single; Jim Mendick (HR), Bob Johnson (double), Father Ted Mozes (double), John Suntato, Joe Strauss and Allen Rothenberg each had 2 hits in support of WP Bill Kauffman.  Don Walsh 4 hits, Bob Gotwald (double) 3 hits, Bill Kale 3 RBI triple & single and Ron Chiorello 3 RBI, HR for WWC.

Renegades scored 3 runs in bottom of 7th inning with Bill Minder's game winning RBI single; Carl Marshall (double), WP Jack Murphy (double) and Charley Lauble each had 2 hits for the Renegades.

 

August 11th:

Buccaneers 14, World Wide Creations 7

Jack Curran had a 3 RBI triple as the Bucs scored 8 runs in top of 7th inning to upset 1st place WWC.  John Salmon (HR) had 4 hits; Carl Fario (double) and WP Arvie Powell each had 3 hits, while Bill Fuller (double) had 2 hits.  Al Lombardo had 3 hits & Don Walsh (double) 2 hits for WWC.

 

Renegades 12, Puss N' Boots 2

Charley Lauble 4 hits; Carl Marshall, Skeets Hensor and WP Jack Murphy each had a double and single for the Renegades.

 

August 6th:

Sonny Companick had 3 hits including the game winning RBI single in the bottom of 7th inning.  Don Walsh also had 3 hits, while Al Lombardo, Bob Gotwald, and Herb Spair each had 2 hits.  Bob Rodgers had 3 hits; Charlie Lauble (double), Carl Marshall, Bob Cardie and Ron Elliott each had 2 hits, while Bill Minder hit a triple in top of 7th to tie the game for the Renegades.

Don Walsh (made two great defensive plays in the outfield), Frank Zielinski and WP Holt Ellis each had 3 hits; Bob Haugstatter (HR and double), Bob Gotwald (double), Al Lombardo, Jack Dolan, Sonny Companick and Cliff Ellis each had 2 hits for WWC.  Bob Moore hit a triple; Tony Mamie, Carl Fario, Arvie Powell, Dick Lawrence, Lou Agilucci, Jerry Fishman and Rich Wagner each had 2 hits for the Bucs.

Ed Huett and WP Ron Elliott each had 2 hits; Bill Minder hit a triple and 3rd baseman Charlie Lauble made a sensational play for the Renegades.
