Good defense by P&B kept runners off the bases and contributed to low scoring game.

The Renegades unleashed a 23 hit attack with Pete Kaneel with 4 hits (3 HR, 3B), Jack Murphy (2 2B), Freddy Racosta with 3 hits, 2 hits for Carl Marshall, Charlie Laubel, Billy Howland, Ed Huett. Rookie Lou Hartman had another HR.  For the Buccaneers, pitcher Steve Torek had 3 hits, 2hits: Tony Maime, Pat, Arvie Powell, John Curran and Jim Mahoney.

Puss & Boots beat Buccaneers as Ray Giberson (2B), Al Avello, Bob J. had 3 hits.  2 hits: John Sergas, Harry Colbert (3B), Herm Mitchell (HR), John Suntato, Allan Rithenberg (HR), Joe Kamin, Joe Strauss.  Buccaneers:  2 hits, Tony M., Phila Patty, John Salmon (2B), Fran Schweiss, Arvey Powell, Jim Mahony.                                      

 

June 29th Results:

For Worldwide: Bob Haugstatter had 2 hits and made some good plays on defense, 2 hits: Al Lombardo, Bob Gotwald and Bob Erbe.  Puss & Boots: Harry Colbert (3B), Bob Johnson, Herm Mitchell and Ray Giberson each had 2 hits.  Defense was very shaky in the 5 run inning.

 

Renegades 13, Buccaneers 5

Renegades played good "D" to beat the Buccaneers.  Tony Maime, Arvee Powell, Rich Wagner and Steve Torek had 2 hits for them. No individual results for Renegades.

 

June 24th Results:

Worldwide Creations: Bob Lorincz had 3 hits (HR, 3B) and Bob Haugstatter.  2 hits: Ron Chiorello, Tony Benevento, Ron Dolan and Bill Kale. Hoyt Ellis was winning pitcher. Buccaneers, 2 hits John Salmon, Franny Schweiss and Arvey Powell and Al also banged out another hit.

 

Puss N' Boots 23, Renegades 3

Puss & Boots, 5 hits: John Sergas, Harry Colbert (HR, 2B), 4 hits: Herm Mitchell (2 HR, 2B), Bob J., 3 hits:Paul Oleyar (2B), Al Avello, 2 hits: Ray Giberson, John Suntato (3B), Joe Kamin.  Renegades, Pete Kaneel 3 hits and some great catches.  Billy Howland 2 hits.  This was a games of inches as hard hit balls were just inches of being caught in the gaps and line drives bounced in front of the OF. With the exception of 3 shots by Herm (2) and Harry (1). John's triple was a shot but the runners ran out of gas.

World Wide Creations: Bob Erbe and Don Walsh were the hitting stars with 3 hits each.  2 hits: Al Lombardo, Tony Benevento, Bob Gotwald, Ron and Jack Dolan and Al Bednarczyk.  Buccaneers: 4 total hit, Arvey Powell with 2 hits.

Renegades had three players with two hits, Bobby Turner, Bobby Cardie and big Bill Minder with a triple.   Puss & Boots had 15 hits with Harry Colbert, Herm Mitchell, Ray Giberson and John Suntano each belting out 2 timely hits. All hits were singles.

For Puss & Boots: Hoyt Ellis stole the bats from P&B as they only got 11 hits, all singles with Harry C, Ray Giberson and Joe Kamin with 2 hits. World Wide’s good pitching and defense was the story with timely hitting: Bob H, 3 hits, 2 hits: Al Lombardo, Ron Chiorolo, Bob Lorincz, Bob Gotwald and Donny Walsh plus a gigantic HR by newcomer Bob Erbe.

Buccaneers and Renegades had a pitching duel before the Bucs winning 19-18 with a wild 7th inning.
