MINUTES OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

February 1, 2017

The following are the minutes of our last Board of Directors held 2/1/17.

ATTENDANCE:  All teams were represented except the Padres.

RULES AND BYLAWS:  Mike Michalisin and Bill Perlman gave a review of the changes in the rules and Bylaws.  All changes were approved except the following: Pinch Runners and Pitcher Protection.

The following motion was made by Joe Franklin and seconded by Gary Laglia.
" Any pinch runner can run once an inning" and eliminate the phrase "three times per game"
Motion carried. 

The following motion was made in conjunction with the previous motion.  Eliminate the phrase "The manager will designate a maximum of two specific players who may need a runner from home plate." Motion carried.  A FULL SET OF COMPLETE RULES WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE BOARD IN A SEPARATE E-MAIL ATTACHMENT. 

PITCHER PROTECTION:  After some discussion, The following motion was made, "All Pitchers must use some protective device such as a mask or screen while participating in that capacity during games".  Motion failed.

HOWEVER, DUE TO RECENT CHANGES REGARDING THIS RULE ON THE NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL LEVELS, THIS ISSUE WILL BE PRESENTED FOR DISCUSSION AND VOTE AT THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.

SCHEDULE:  The Board voted to approve the addition of a Roxbury Team to the 60's Division and to add a new team to the Slocum Division.  As a result, Frank Shapiro will present a tentative schedule for approval at the next meeting.

TREASURER'S REPORT:  David Greenberg presented a tentative budget for the 2017 season.  The budget will be presented again because the issue remains whether the League will continue with the annual BBQ for the 2017 season.

JUST A REMINDER!!!  THE NEXT MEETING OF THE BOARD IS WEDNESDAY MARCH 22ND AT THE RANDOLPH DINER STARTING AT 9:30 A.M.
