Bare was led by Harry Semple with four hits.  Joe Massimino had 3 hits including a home run.  Ed Belford, Tony Williams, Frank Pepe and Larry Berra all had 3 hits.  Tom Lombardi was the defensive star of the game.

Awnings mounted a 23 hit attack to defeat the Icemen in the opening round of the playoffs.  Fred Amado and Bruce Crawford had 4 hits each. Bob Rahnenfuhrer and Tom Pasko homered for Awnings.
KMD Tuning 15, Associated Auto Parts 14
KMD took game one of the playoffs in a very close battle.  The Parts men went up 8-5 with six runs in the third, only to see KMD come back with nine in the fourth.  AAP rallied with four in the seventh, but fell one run short.  Peter Byer and Paul Taeschler delivered the big blows in KMD’s nine run rally.  Ed Quinn, Kerry Gelb, Brian McDermott and Dan Mulligan had three hits each.  For AAP Jack Helfrich homered, and he, Keith McDede and Joe Adase all had four hits. Alan Schachman and Steve Adase had multiple hits.
The Office 15, Northwestern Mutual 12
The Insurers jumped out to an early lead, until the Pub men exploded for seven runs in the fourth. The Insurers took back the lead with five more runs, only to be erased by a six run seventh inning, as the Red shirts held on for the victory. The Office six run seventh was highlighted by Dave Drechsel’s bases loaded triple. Drechsel was a prefect four for four with four RBI’s. Mike DeChiaro was three for three with three RBI’s. Bill Hinkle, who went the distance for his first win of the season, was supported by a one error stellar defense. For the Insurers, Anthony Abbaleo had four hits, including a triple.

The Office 15, Northwestern Mutual 14
Glen Zuhl’s single in the bottom of the seventh drove in Tom McNulty with the winning run as the Red shirts completed a sweep of The Insurers in the opening round of the playoffs.  The Office fought back the whole game, and with a big seven run outburst in the fourth led by Rich Goski’s bases clearing triple went ahead 12-7.  The Insurers came back in the top of the seventh to take a 14-13 lead, only to set up the final Office rally.  Glen Zuhl and Vic Trindade paced The Office with four hits each.  The Red shirts were flawless in the field.

The Awning held on for 5-4 victory in the rain.  Bob Grausam, Bob Rahnenfuhrer, Neil Grandstrand, Bruce Crawford, Fred Amado and Dave Waxtel all contributed 2 hits.  Great defense, led by Tom Pasko, kept Buffy’s off the scoreboard in 6 of 7 innings.
