Led by a long
triple by Paul Newton, Riverside jumped out to a 7-1 lead after one inning.
Mario Fastiggi pitched well in the win. Other offensive contributors for
Riverside, with three hits apiece were Anthony Abbaleo, Rich Conklin, Tom
Wolansky and Dennis Maluchnik. |

In a game that
was ended after the 6th inning due to darkness, LLG held off a late CLV rally to
take the victory. Jeff Maglietta, Danny Nigro, Tom Ulichny and Willy Jackson
led the LLG attack. |

Awnings Galore 11, Cranford VFW 4 |
|
John Rachko, 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs, and Mike
Kovach with 2 hits and 3 RBIs spurred the Awnings offense. Also contributing
were Steve Androsko with 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Tom Colandro and Gary Cuttler
with 2 hits apiece. For VFW, Jerry Gaeta (RBI), Ken Murray, Bill Hinkle and
Dave Drechsel all went 2 for 3. |

Jeff Baier led
the Roselle offense with two long home runs which along with Jim McCullough’s
two triples led The Legion’s 22 hit attack.
Winning pitcher Harry Streep added three hits and was joined by Al
Genova, Gene Antonucci, Ralph Genova, Bill Dugan, and Pat Mooney
offensively. The Legion kept the
Linwood squad at bay with outstanding defensive plays from McCullough,
Genova, Baier, and Antonucci. For the Tap
House, Jack Helfrich had 3 hits while Joe Sarica, Steve Lerner, Mac Kowaleski
and Jim Sydlo (HR) contributed two hits each. |

A great game by
a pumped Linda’s team held The VFW in check. For Cranford, Juan Moreno had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs
while Billy Hinkle was a perfect 2 for 2 at the plate. |

In a slugfest,
Ron Kulik and Neil Iccarino led Top Line with 4 hits apiece. Bill McCormack, Dave Lloyd, Dave Ball, Bob
D’Meo and Bob Greco added 3 hits each in the winning effort. |

Tom Breen, the hitting star for Awnings, had a 4 for 4 night including a 3-run homer. Bruce Crawford and Steve Androsko each had 3 hits, while Frank D'Antico and Neil Granstrand both contributed 2 RBIs. Paul Newton tripled and had two hits, and Anthony Abbaleo, Tom Wolansky, Mario Fastiggi, Steve Falco and Dennis Baker also had multiple hit games. |

For Waxtel, Jose Cortes went 3 for 3, Ty Sercey had 2 hits including a home run, while Ramon Martinez and Keith Johnson each pounded out 2 hits. |
