UCSSL MEETING MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 8, 2017
The following is a summary of our league meeting of February 8, 2017
30 were in attendance, with all 22 teams represented.
On February 4, at the second NJSSA meeting in preparation for the 2017 season, the following tournament dates were announced:
50+ Tournament July 29-30 Rain Dates August 5-6
60+
Tournament August 26-27 Rain Dates
Sept. 16-17
70+ Tournament August 17 (Thursday) Warren Park, Woodbridge
By a 5-3 vote, 50+ managers voted to modify the current schedule to allow for a second game between each B and each C team. We agreed to the following format (changes shown in red):
A plays each A 5 games, each B once, each C once
B plays each A once, each B 3 games, each C 2 games
C plays each A once, each B 2 games, each C 3 games (plus one bumper)
After a lengthy discussion, including comments regarding the relative safety of each of the softballs under consideration, managers voted 13-6 to use the 52/300 softball this year that each team had used on a trial basis for two games during the 2016 league season.

March 8 --
Discussion and possible revision of rules.
Please review current league rules and begin preparing wording for
proposals for change. Email the commissioner with any proposals for change in
advance of the March 9 meeting. Shirt
orders due. Field selection will take
place if possible.
April 5 --
Distribution of balls, rule books, scorebooks, umpire fee checks.
