Echo Tap & Grille 7 |
A few early raindrops gave way to a hot and humid night at
Warinanco Park where A division leaders Douglas VW cruised to a 23-7 victory
over Echo Tap & Grille. Leading the way for Douglas VW was Carmelo Garcia
going an outstanding 5 for 5 on the night that included a homer and 2
doubles. Right behind Carmelo was Geno Antonucci who registered 5 hits of his
own. Other big contributors included Al Genova and Hector Munoz who each had
4 base knocks. Luke Nacca and Willie Shumate didn’t shy away from the offense
tacking on 3 hits of their own. A big home run by Billy Buteau was key in
Douglas VW’s win. As for Echo Tap & Grille they elected to deploy an 11th
fielder rather than accept the 5 runs. This move allowed them to go the
distance where Lloyd Haymes and Eddie Engram would both go 2 for 3. Greg
Thomas was 1 for 1 with 2 walks and Deuce Brown was 1 for 2. |
