defeated Kenilworth VFW by a score of 16-13. Linwood jumped out to an 11-4
lead after 4 innings only to see the Vets claw their way back into the game
with 6 runs in the 5th inning. Linwood responded with a 4 spot in the
sixth and held on for the victory. |

Boys were led by Mike Hoffmann and Carl Gamba with 3 hits each along with
stellar defense by Gamba. Leo Diguilio had 2 hits including a grand slam and
Mike Dirienzo and Gene Antonucci added 2 hits apiece. Kenilworth was led by
Mike Christoff, Rory Caldwell, and Rocky Pencinger with 2 hits apiece. |

In a game where
both teams played with all their hearts, as if it was the 3rd game of the
playoff championships, Rocky's Bar and Grill defeated Awnings Galore in extra
innings 23-22. Rocky’s jumped out to an 11-3 lead after 3 innings, but
an 8-run 4th by Awnings tied it up at 11 -11. Awnings put up 6 more in their
6th to go ahead 17-14 but Rocky’s tied it up again at 18-18 after 7 innings.
In the bottom of the 8th, Rocky's once
again facing defeat scored the winning run on an attempted double play when
the runner going to first base beat the throw from second base allowing the
winning run to score from 3rd. At the plate for Rocky's Carl Herman had
5 hits. Angelo Puerari, John Llano, winning pitcher Keith McDede, and
James Massarelli had 4 hits. Joe Hrubash, Gino Raisley, Dennis Maluchnik,
Dave Reid and Gary Epstein rounded out the attack with 2 hits each.
For the Shadsters : Billy Hillyer, Jerry Isolda and Rich
Traub contributed 4 hits with a homer by Traub. Tom Pasko (2B) , Paul Newton,
Richie Polonitza (2B), Tom Beninato (2B) , Dave Kirsch and (the original)
Ozzie Osborn added 3 hits apiece. Two hits each by Danny Mendoza and John
Campanella rounded out the offense. |

held the lead through 6 innings, but Deegan kept the gap tight throughout.
With Awnings up 16-13 after 6 innings, Deegan erupted for 11 runs in their
top half of the 7th to take the lead and win the game. Awnings clawed back
with 5 of their own in the bottom 7th, but it wasn’t enough. Don Miller
and Rob Stratton had 4 hits each for the Roofers. John Rachko, Art Paradise,
Walt Korzeb, Pat Nigro, and Sal Martino had 3 hits each. For the
Shadesters, Billy Hillyer once again led the offense with 4 hits (2B), while
Rick Demsey, John Campanella, Ozzie Osborn and Danny Mendoza tacked on 3 hits
apiece. Mendoza also homered. Bruce Crawford and Jerry Isolda had two hits,
each with a triple. Dave Kirsch and
Tom Beninato had two hits each. |

Apparal had a 31-hit attack and defeated Debellis Associates 20-5. Dave Rothenberg led the offense with 3 hits

Zeidner, Billy Early, Marty Joyce, Tom Rutkowski, Neil Koch, Carmine Priore,
Ken Murray and George Merlo. |

defeated Kenilworth VFW last by a score of 18-13. In a game that was
never that close, Yogi's Boys ended Kenilworth's misery with a 6-spot in the
bottom of the 6th inning. Kenilworth was led by David Ball who had
4 hits. Dom Montefusco and Rocky Pencinger added 3 hits apiece.
Ed Kleakny, coming off the injured list also chipped in 3 hits and 4 RBIs in
the losing cause. |

Swan Hotel started
off slowly and found themselves behind 7-0 after one inning and then the
offense exploded. 6 innings later they had won the game 32-18 in a
hard-fought battle with AJ Jersey at Rahway Park. The hitting star for
the Swannies was Ricky Bone McMahon who was 5 for 5 on the night with two
home runs and nine RBIs. Scott Mugele added 4 hits and Brian Latham, Tom
Ulichny, Mike Rzewuski, Doug Fischer, Marty Bernstein, Nick Mennona, and Joe
Difabio contributed three hits each. Fischer picked up the win on the hill
for the Swannies. For AJ Jersey, Mike Rosenberg 3-3 3 RBIs, Vance
Barfield 3-4 2 RBI’s. Jeff Hoffman, Drew Koski, Paul Scheuermann and Steve
Bertone collected 2 hits. |
