| On a windy evening at Tremley Field, division rivals Echo Tap and Dowling’s played another thrilling game. Echo Tap got things going in the 2nd inning by scoring 6 runs without an out being recorded to lead 6-0 after 2 innings. Dowling responded in the bottom of the third inning by scoring six runs, highlighted by Matt Greenblatt's crucial two-run triple that sparked their comeback. Both teams would trade runs over the next 3 innings and Echo Tap would lead 12-11 heading into the decisive 7th inning. Carl Herman pitched a perfect 7th for Dowling’s to keep them within 1 run headed into the bottom of the 7th. Matt Greenblatt led off the bottom of the 7th with a single followed by a double by Darren Muller. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Echo Tap elected to intentionally walk Oliver Gohring setting the table for the dramatic walk-off double by Angelo Puerari for the win. Dowling’s offense was led by Pat Peterpaul (3 for 4, 3 RBIs), Matt Greenblatt (3 for 4, 3runs, 2 RBIs), while Carl Herman, Rick Gregorio, Oliver Gohring, and Angelo Puerari added 2 hits apiece. | ||||||||

| Thirsty Turtle 26 Sonia’s BCE 12 | ||||||||
| The Thirsty Turtles' bats truly delivered as they defeated Sonia’s 26-12. Despite starting the game down 2-0 after the first inning, the Turtles answered back swiftly, scoring five runs in the second inning and adding six more in the third. Their momentum continued, putting up six runs each in both the fourth and fifth innings, then capped the night with one last run in the sixth to secure a commanding victory. Osvaldo sparked the offense with an impressive 4-for-5 showing, crossing the plate four times, collecting two RBI, and hitting a triple. Anthony Muzzicato had one of his top all-around outings this season, finishing 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs. John Fiore and Chris Kaminski each recorded three hits apiece, while almost every member of the lineup contributed during the impressive 26-run performance. Steve Owens stayed hot at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 and launching another home run, while Bryan Tye reached base four times, going 2-for-2 with two walks and two RBI. | ||||||||
| Sonia’s showed fight throughout the game, scoring four runs in the second inning, five more in the fifth, and one in the seventh, but the Turtles’ offense proved too much to overcome. With the victory, The Thirsty Turtles continue to build momentum as one of the league’s hottest hitting teams. | ||||||||
| Douglas VW 19 Angry Joe’s 14 | ||||||||
| In a game played through 25+ mph winds, the V-Dubs and Angry Joe’s traded punches early in a battle that stayed deadlocked through three innings. After the teams were tied 11-11, the VW squad stepped on the gas and pulled away late for a hard-fought 19-14 victory. Leading the charge for the V-Dubs was Lou Rivera, who delivered a perfect 5-for-5 performance at the plate while also flashing stellar defense in the field. Offensive support came from Luke Nacca, Justin Doyle, Frank Padovano, and Chris Morrison, who each added three hits on the night. The turning point came in the fourth inning when Nacca launched a three-run home run that helped create separation on the scoreboard. Every player in the V-Dubs lineup reached base at least twice, while Mario Fastiggi earned his third win of the season on the mound. | ||||||||
| Phenomenal Boyz 7 Terawulf 5 | ||||||||
| In a tightly fought game, both teams battled difficult wind conditions. The Phenomenal Boyz managed to rack-up several hits in the sixth inning, allowing them to pull ahead and eventually win against Terawulf. Although Terawulf attempted a comeback in the seventh inning, they were unable to close the gap. | ||||||||

| The Echo Tap Barmen fell behind 7-5 only to erupt for 13 runs over the final 3 innings to secure the victory. The Tapmeisters flashed the leather by converting two double plays. Leading the offense was Erik Hastrup, who had a perfect 4-4 night with a 2B, Scott Rosenbloom (3-4 with a HR), Sean Dolan (3-4) and winning pitcher Joe Sheridan (3-4). Adding 2 hits apiece for Echo Tap & Grille were Deuce Lloyd, Steve Halper, Greg Thomas, and Eddie Engram. Roy Alexander contributed a key RBI in the bottom of the 6th and directed a flawless outfield defense. | ||||||||
| Douglas VW 25 Rocky’s Bar & Grill 16 | ||||||||
| In a battle between two “A” teams, the Douglas V-Dubs came out red hot, building a 15-run lead through the first four innings. But Rocky’s refused to quit, rallying behind the cry of “we are not here to play 5 innings,” and stormed back with 11 unanswered runs before eventually falling short, 25-16. The offensive stars for Douglas were the scorching-hot Justin Doyle, who went 4-for-4 with a home run and double, and Al Genova, who also finished a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles. Fernando Diaz, Al Dente, and Farlan Alusik each added three big hits. Contributing two hits apiece were Lou Rivera, Chris Morrison, Dan Righetti, Hector Munoz, Billy Beatue, and Rich Gaul. On the mound, Gaul picked up his second victory of the season as Douglas improved to 5-0. Rocky’s defense continues to struggle but the offense was led by Anderson Monzon (3-3, 3b, 4rs), Laquan “Fu” Gray (4-5, 2b, 3rs, 2 RBI), Craig Michaud (2-4, 4 RBIs), while Tom DiGregrio, Ellan Ben-Hayon, Tim Carey and Frank Mastrocola added 2 hits apiece in the loss. | ||||||||
| Terawulf 17 Dowling’s Tavern 10 | ||||||||
| On a beautiful day at Rahway River Park, a shorthanded Dowling’s team took on B Division rival Terawulf. The game remained highly competitive, with the game tied at 6-6 after four innings. Terawulf pulled away over the last 3 innings outscoring Dowling’s 11-4 for the final 17-10 margin. Rick Gregorio was the hitting star for Dowling’s going 5 for 5 (2 2b, 3b, 4r), Angelo Puerari (3 -5, 3b, 3 RBIs) and Jeff Bauman (3-3, 3b, 1 r, 1 RBI). | ||||||||
