Thomas M. Madak, 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 15, 2015 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ the son of the late Michael and Margaret Madak. Mr. Madak graduated from Dunellen High School in 1957. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1963. His main job was a firefighter while serving both stateside and overseas in Morocco.
In his younger days he raced motorcycles professionally that brought much joy to his life. He was a resident of Manville for the past 75 years. Mr. Madak retired from Beckman Instruments in Somerset, NJ in 2002 after working 15 years in their warehouse as a forklift operator. Married to Barbara Marsicano on September 11, 1965; they honored 50 years of marriage with family and friends in a joyous celebration in September of this year. He played softball his entire adult life, won a number of MVP awards, World Championships and traveled all around the U.S. playing in many tournaments. His other love for many years was playing golf. A crowning achievement was hitting two holes-in-one!
He is survived by his wife Barbara A. Madak of Manville, NJ, his two daughters Dawn Madak and her husband Wesley Jones of Annapolis, Maryland and Susan Hatfield and her husband James of Fairfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sara Hatfield, Shane Hatfield and Gracie Jones and by his step-grandchildren Josh Hatfield, Kelsie Hatfield, Jessica Breaux, Alyson White, Melissa Jones and Michael Jones. The viewing will be on Wednesday November 18, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will take place on Thursday November 19, 2015 starting with visitation from 10:00 to 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Service conducted by Deacon Bill Stefany at 10:30 AM.
