Lawrence E. Rehak
 

IBM Field Engineer, Viet Nam Veteran, Softball Player, 63

 

Lawrence E. Rehak, 63, a lifelong resident of Rahway, lost his battle with cancer on June 18^th at about 8:00PM.  His nephew Jeff was here visiting when Larry passed.

 

Mr. Rehak was employed as a field engineer with IBM, Cranford for 31 years before retiring in 1999.  He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War serving in the Air Force, and was a life member of the Clark VFW and a communicant of St. Mark’s RC Church, Rahway.  He was also a member of the board of directors of both the Union County and Middlesex County Senior Softball Leagues.

 

He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Kryvanick, in 2003.  Surviving are his niece, Marie Holmes of Colonia, NJ and his nephew, Jeff Eisenberger of Bridgewater, and his great nephew Michael and great-nieces Heather and Lauren.

Services will be held on Saturday June 27,2009 at 9 a.m. in the Pettit - Davis Funeral Home, 371 W. Milton Ave, Rahway N.J. 07065, 732-388-0038; thence to St Mary’s R.C. Church, Rahway, where his funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m.  Interment is in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.  Larry had requested that his viewing be on Friday June 26^th, 2-4 and 7-9.
